There are so many different things you can do - but one of the most important parts is that you need to forgive one of the parties involved. And I'm not talking about the toxic narcissist here - I'm talking about YOU. Yesterday, one of our fellow survivors, Michelle, left a comment that led me to this topic today.
She wanted to know, "How to begin to forgive myself for allowing decades of ab use?"
You need to forgive yourself for attracting them into your life - so you don't have to continue to carry the burden around and so that you don't repeat the same experience with another person. As Michelle mentioned in her comment, you forgive yourself for ALLOWING it to happen - not for causing it to happen.
