NBA legend Kobe Bryant is among five killed in a helicopter crash in Calabasas, California on Sunday morning, according to TMZ.

He was 41 years old.

According to an article published by TMZ, Bryant was traveling with at least three other people in his private helicopter when it went down and a fire broke out.

ESPN NBA reporter Adrian Wojnarowski also confirmed the news via Twitter saying, "Kobe Bryant is among those dead in a helicopter crash outside Los Angeles, a source confirms to ESPN."

TMZ stated that Bryant's wife Vanessa was not among those on board. There is no confirmation yet if one of his four daughters was on board with him.

Bryant spent his entire NBA career with the Los Angeles Lakers. He won five NBA titles with the Lakers along with two Olympic gold medals playing for Team USA. Now fourth on the NBA's all-time scoring list, with 33,643 points, Bryant won two NBA Finals MVP awards and one NBA regular-season MVP nod in 2008.

Bryant wore both No. 8 and 24 with the Lakers, both of which were retired by the franchise in Dec. 2017.
