Coronavirus outbreak: Hong Kong cruise passengers disembark ship cleared of illness

Coronavirus outbreak: Hong Kong cruise passengers disembark ship cleared of illness Passengers and crew on board a cruise ship docked in Hong Kong disembarked on Sunday after they were quarantined for six days over concerns about the novel coronavirus, with many relieved to get off.

Shortly after docking Tuesday in Hong Kong, some crew members had showed signs of respiratory tract infection.

The World's Cruise, operated by Dream Cruises, docked in Hong Kong after it was denied entry to the Taiwan port of Kaohsiung on Tuesday and authorities forbid thousands of passengers and crew members from disembarking to prevent further spreading of the epidemic.

Authorities gave the green light on Sunday to leave the ship after all crew members tested negative for the illness.
