Chicago Administrative hearing office Headquarters
This office is called an Administrative hearing office. Chicago has red light camera's and we also have speed camera's. If you are caught entering the intersection after the light turns red, if you dont make a complete stop when making a right turn, or if you were speeding they mail you a ticket. Red light $100 Speeding 9mph and below $35 ten and up $100. Now you have 25 days to pay, and that's from when it was issued not when it came in the mail. (Better hope the mail is not late.) After 25 days they double $100 is now $200. If you have 3 tickets that are past the 25 day due date you arut on the boot list. There are Van's that roam the City with special technology to read license plates and check them against the boot list. They get a ping these parking enforcement Ofc.'s jump out and boot your car. They basically attach a piece of metal to your tire so you cant move until you pay them. Better hope there is parking overnight if you cant pay because they will ticket your booted car. The red light and ticket doubling program has been such a problem that it's common to hear of someone file for bankruptcy due to the Cities practices. It's become such a problem Alderman are now trying to fix it. Here's the kicker if I were to borrow your car and I go through a red light who gets the ticket? Me I was driving the car, but because their is no way to detect that they moved that moving violation into the category of a parking ticket so they can make money 24/7 365! You can also contest your ticket here as FML1 was doing, with a ADMINISTRATIVE LAW JUDGE.
