I have often talked about the planet formation process and the multitude of different models. In a new report recently published scientist bring into question some of the fundamental assumptions that have been made about the current accretion model. By analysing the iron content within the mantle of Earth they discovered something rather unique that could not easily be explained and instead pointed towards something far more radical.
