Sky News contributor Cory Bernardi says former prime minister Malcolm Turnbull is “perhaps the greatest phony that we’ve seen in politics for a very long time”. Mr Turnbull tweeted on Sunday in support of Labor’s net zero emissions target, writing “if we don’t get there the planet will be uninhabitable for billions of people”.
The former Liberal prime minister's comments come after he was filmed in 2018 saying, “you can't attribute any particular event, whether it's a flood or fire or a drought or a storm, to climate change”.
Mr Bernardi told Sky News host Paul Murray “if you don’t believe in anything you will fall for everything”.
