HOW TO MEET AND GREET WITH PROVIDERS FOR MEDICAL CODER'S

DIscussing how to do meet and greets with providers as a #medicalcoder. The relationships we build with providers is incredibly important. The more you communicate and make it personable, the easier your work will become so that you can have the time to dig through their documentation and make sure everything is there. Its about getting to the details. Its about opening that door and elevating the partnership of medical coder and provider.
I forgot to mention to make two copies of the list that you take to your provider to sign. You sign both copies and so do they. This way they have an accounting of everything you talked about. This is a "CYA" but you will need it. This is also remind the provider of everything that was discussed.
Keep a file of all your interactions. This will be beneficial for you as a way of accounting for your time and the topics that you have discussed.
While unconventional, personable communication it is supremely beneficial.
