Step 1: Punctuality
-be sure to arrive to the interview 15-20min before the scheduled time.
-first impression lasts
-You communicate the second you arrive. Words are not the only communications you’re having. Remember this.
-demeanor and sef awareness
Step 2: Clarity
-know your own schedule
-know the company’s schedule
-Be sure your life aligns with the position you’re applying for before you attend the interview
Step 3: Communication
-communicate your needs clearly but prioritize the job you’re applying for first
Step 4: Confidence
-be confident in your answers but only if you believe it is true
-own up to whatever it is you’re lacking knowledge of - this helps the interview know you better
-Have extra copy of your resume
Step 5: Job Skills
-Do you have the skills needed for the position you’re applying for already, if yes then let the interview know but you need to make sure the timing is right. Meaning, give them this information after they ask.
If they don’t ask then be sure to let them know only after they finish with the questions they have for you first.
Step 6: Less is more
-Sometimes the smartest thing you can say is actually nothing. This doest mean you ignore their questions.
Let me elaborate, when there are no questions asked, be sure to continue to listen. This shows the person conducting the interview that you’re able to maintain calm in an uncomfortable situations.
Step 7: Social skills
-Most of the jobs require social skills and this can be a deal breaker in almost all companies.
-Speak when you’re asked a question
-Never speak over someone else, whether it is a one on one interview or group interview you always want to remain respectful and aware of the present.
-This tells a lot about you as a well rounded individual who can keep, maintain and close deals when the time comes dealing with customers.
